New Publication 'Thirty-Three'
My
new publication 'Thirty-Three' is now available for purchase in New
Zealand. They are $33 each, plus $6 for postage and handling within New
Zealand. The catalogue features full colour reproductions of the group
of paintings now on tour around New Zealand and an essay about the work

Thirty-Three at Te Manawa, Palmerston North:
My touring exhibition 'Thirty-Three' opens this Saturday at Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science & History in Palmerston North, New Zealand. This is the second venue of a three-year tour of the exhibition around New Zealand. The publication for the exhibition will be available by the end of the month and I will be back in New Zealand for an artist floor talk in October.

I was interviewed yesterday about my work and exhibition 'Thirty-Three' at the Hastings City Art Gallery by Roy Dunningham. His touring exhibition 'Thirty~Three' opens 4 February 2012 at the @Hastings City Art Gallery (HCAG) Hawkes Bay, New†Zealand. The exhibition comprises of 33 retablo paintings, documenting each year of his life†up until 2009 accompanied by a†large painting installation along with the short†film (currently screening) which focuses on his practice. A full colour, limited edition publication (with essay†'The Divine Self and the Church of Auto-Resurrection' by Dr. Peter J. Howland) is scheduled to be released towards the middle of March. HCAG is one of six†venues exhibiting the show over the next 12 months. ’Thirty~Three’ was exhibited at PAULNACHE, Gisborne†in 2009. The gallery has represented Matt’s work since 2004.

Hello All,
The new year is off to a quick start with my work represented in a group exhibition at 'Sacred Machine' in Tucson, AZ. In New Zealand, I have my touring exhibition Thirty-Three' opening at the Hastings City Art Gallery on the 4th of Feb. It runs until the 6th of May and I will be giving an artist talk via Skype in March, which will coincide with release of the
limited edition catalogue for the exhibition. Alongside 'Thirty-Three,' PAULNACHE in Gisborne NZ is exhibiting 'Public and Private Battles'-a new suite of my paintings for the duration of February.

With the upcoming Dia De Los Muertos festivals here in the USA, I have work in several exhibitions around the country.
At present, I have two paintings in a group exhibition, '10,000 Skeletons' at 222 Imperial, a new art gallery in Las Vegas. My work can be seen on their Facebook Page. (until 31 October 2011)

My intaglio scraperboard work 'Origins' is on display at the 'Real New Zealand Art' exhibition, Federal Hotel Gallery, Cnr Taupo Quay and Market Streets, Whanganui, New Zealand 27 Sept -8 Oct 2011. I believe the exhibition is part of promotion for the RWC and is a selection of alumni from the Quay School for the Arts.
